At first glance, it seems like it makes absolutely no sense. But the closer you get, the more you get drawn in by its beauty in the middle of the rugged terrain. And suddenly, there it is, half submerged in the sea, resting comfortably on the seabed below.

Restaurant Under is the first underwater restaurant in Europe, situated as far south as you can get in Norway. Designed by the architect firm, Snøhetta, it’s a marvelous concrete structure shaped by a minimalistic design. At the same time, it’s a portal to a grandiose and immersive experience.

In Norwegian, the word “under” means both “below” and “wonder,” and that’s an excellent way to sum it up. Once inside, the interiors create a warm atmosphere in contrast to the cold exterior. The panoramic view through the enormous window at the seabed level is breathtaking as you enjoy the underwater wildlife.
